The Sports Never End - Volleyball 2013

And in addition to Jessica playing on her school volleyball team this year, six of the girls from school (including Jess of course) have joined Club West - a club volleyball team based out of Culver City.  They practice Tue/Thur from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and every weekend we have either another practice, or a tournament.  So far Jessica is LOVING being on the team and her skills are improving at an amazing rate.  Currently Jessica is the libero (middle back row), but she will be training on all back row skills as she will not be six-foot-plus by the time she is in college (or ever).  We have had some VERY early mornings up at 5am to be on the road to Anaheim for early weekend tournament starts.

And in the midst of all the drama that is the everyday work, school, sports schedule  - we are very lucky to be enjoying the Los Angeles weather that has us at the beach on a regular basis - even in the dead of winter.  And I should write winter in big air quotes "WINTER" - since our winter is so mild and sunny.  

Seattle Girlie Weekend - Summer 2012

So this summer the Nash girls decided to join Best'est Friend Donna Clarke on a trip to Seattle to attend her nephew's graduation.  Jessica fell in LOVE with Seattle and the fresh seafood on every corner, not to mention the gem of a find in The Biscuit Bitch - a breakfast spot we (dare we admit) dragged Donna to no less than three times in our short visit.  The Seattle Aquarium, Glass Blowing, Oysters, Oysters, Oysters, Waterfront dining, Cruise Ship viewing and tons of excellent sightseeing - we crammed in a ton in a short visit.  Thanks to Donna for letting us tag along.

AYSO Soccer Season 2012

So I am trying to get some shots updated on the blog, although they will be horribly out of order.  Here are some photos from the AYSO 2012 Soccer season - September 2012 to January 2013. Jess was the #1 goalie, but was also finally able to get some time at forward. The results were a few goals scored this season - her first in AYSO.  MUCH celebration after those goals.  The team won their entire Beverly Hills division and lost in post-season play when a few key players had game conflicts.  A great season and Coach Adrian was quite proud.

Jessica's Brush with Fame

Big props to David Beckham who stopped to pose for a photo today before taking his boys to see Madagascar at Century City. He was incredibly gracious considering we were all running a few minutes late after waiting in line for popcorn.  Jess is insisting she will not be washing her shirt and I'm still surprised she had the nerve to ask him if he would mind a quick photo.

Graduation from Elementary - Middle School Ahead!

With 5th grade coming to a close, Jessica is now gearing up for Middle School next year.  Her class had their Candle Lighting Ceremony (graduation) and it was really beautifully done. 

School Co-Ed Soccer Team 2012

This year the school team for the 5th grade soccer season was co-ed.  Neither the girls nor the boys were particularly keen on the idea, but in the end they all did a great job.  The season was a huge success.

Track Meet 2012

The 5th grade track meet was another great day this year.   Jess had a great time running the 50, the 100 and the 440 relay. Unfortunately Jess has inherited her mother's knees so will be dealing with knee 'issues' for the next few years.
