STORM DAMAGE!!

And not to be outdone by Dave Zellhart with the storm damage he had last year, I've photographed our own damage, which was quite extensive. A plastic chair and small table were both knocked over! Stay tuned for more potential damage with the new storm coming this way!

Storm Cleanup

Adrian and Jess had to get up on the roof of the garage to gather up some leaves and in preparation for Part II of the big storm blowing through California. We've had 5" of rain so far with more to come. Hard to see from this pic showing blue skies, but it's been non-stop for five days. We have a brief break in the weather so are going to Long Beach this afternoon to go Whale Watching.

Lake Arrowhead Weekend

Here are a few pics of all the kids at Lake Arrowhead this weekend. A great time was had by all and we got up on the last morning to a big storm and falling snow. Fun for light and fluffy sledding, not so fun dealing with chains just-in-case for the drive down the mountain.

JESSICA MAKES HIGH HONOR ROLL

All hail - commoners bow down to her scholastic greatness. Jessica makes High Honor Roll for her second quarter grades - straight A's. Shut YOUR front door - Jess is one of the top two in her class. Jess moved up from first quarter 3 A's and 2 B's and we are all very proud. Mom promised a day at Disneyland as her reward . . . not sure what I was thinking, but 'hey ho' as my friend Ali says.

East Coast Fun in the Snow

While we are enjoying fun in the sun, our East Coast cousins are hitting the snow. Here are Dylan and Nick over the New Year holiday about two hours north of New York. We'll be seeing them in a few weeks in sunny Cancun!

A Girlie Day at Disneyland

So Jessica, Jerri, Lucy and Carroll hit the road to Anaheim for Lucy's first trip to Disneyland - and Jessica's yearly we're-cutting-school-day-out. A more perfect day we could not have asked for - sunny and warm, and the park was not crowded. Jessica crossed the line into insanity, deciding that Space Mountain WAS THE MOST FUN EVER!! Mom had to draw the line at two rides, and promised three next time. Otherwise, she's got to convince Dad to take her. We ended the day on Pirates of the Caribbean, and Jessica innocently asked "Does it go this slow for the entire ride?" Big sigh. Hoping she'll humor me as she gets older and still ride the 'baby rides' with me.

STORM WATCH 2008!!!!

So during Storm Watch 2008, we decided to make red velvet cupcakes with the kids. Great fun, great mess, many types of sprinkles to decorate. Jessica decided to fill the cupcake pans VERY full, so we had a bit of overflow. No damage though, and the cupcakes were delicious.

STORM WATCH 2008!!!!

So it's been quite a weekend in sunny Los Angeles. Bren is in Brazil and during the big Storm Watch 2009, the basement of the Heff house flooded about 11pm and fried the central heater and destroyed the hot water heater. The house was filled with smoke and a weird buring plastic smell . . . and as of Saturday morning it was confimed that the house needs a whole new heater and repairs to the hot water heater. All should be well by Monday, end of day, but in the meantime, the Heffs are camping out with the Nash family. Lucy has become immersed in Barbie world and cannot get enough of Jessica's new 3-story "princess house," while Charlie is becoming a fan of rugby with Adrian.
