Cute Bedtime

So Jerri and Bren and kids were over for a BBQ this past weekend, and Jess read Lucy a story before her bedtime . . . too damn cute for words.

IT'S A TRIFECTA!!!

So today was school assembly to announce the honor roll students for third quarter. Not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES Jessica was called up to the front. First she was student of the month for 2nd Grade - then she got an award for her 2nd place finish in the Science Fair - and finally she was called up for the High Honor Roll Assembly for gettting straight A's. WOOO HOOOOOOO!

Our Strange Neighbor

So a few months ago, our neighbor emailed everyone to announce he was changing his yard to a low-water-usage landscape. We all expected a few cactus to appear, but instead he ripped out his entire lawn and put in rocks. ROCKS. The change was not met with enthusiasm. At night he sneaks out and rakes the rocks into a smooth layer. Whatever. Then two weeks ago a huge pile of dead palm fronds appeared in a pile and he has now organized them into a fence. Or at least I think it's a fence . . . or perhaps some strange interpretive sculpture?? Or could it just be a way to further annoy everyone else in the neighborhood!! I see cars stopping to try and figure out what it is. Free expression has gone to far on this one.

Attempting a Video

So, I am not sure if this will work, but I am attempting my first video on the blog. Jessica has decided the Cheetah Girls are all that and a bag of chips .

OK, so perhaps 'we' might have overdone the design portion of the presentation . . . but I'm hoping Jess gets an A in today's science fair. Last year Jess got second prize, but this year the competition looks fierce with erupting volcanos (hasn't that really been done to death!) and electric potatoes.

So we've been getting ready for weeks for the big Science Fair. The living room has been a mess as we mocked up the presentation board, painted radishes and cut borders. March 28th is the big day.

Sleepover at the Gnasher's

Much fun to be had at a sleepover this past week during Spring break. Jess and Addie made a fabulous tent in the living room (which you can imagine Adrian LOVED). The girls also had great fun decorating easter eggs. Check out the sparkle glitter paint which we used on the eggs, the table, the kitchen chairs and the tile flooring. Luckily a bit of 409 did the trick. The girls also enjoyed the two-computer household for some good times on Webkinz.com.

Spring Has Sprung

Not to rub it in for our cold weather friends out of state, but Spring has Sprung in Los Angeles.

HOLIDAY IN CANCUN

Just back from a relaxing week in Cancun with the Wright family - Nigel, Sofia, Nick and Dylan. A great time was had by all (or so we hope!) and after a loooonnnggg day of flying for the Wrights, the week was smooth sailing. So many photo ops, so here are a few of the good ones.

SWIMMING WITH THE DOLPHINS

Many shots from the trip to Xel-Ha. A day of snorkeling, all-you-can-eat buffets and swimming with dolphins. Here are some good dolphin shots with potentially the best shot being the dolphins jumping over the heads of the group.

LONG BEACH WHALEWATCHING

A quick trip to Long Beach between storms to do a bit of whalewatching. A great time was had by all and we managed to make it back to shore just before a new batch of rain hit.
